DATA ENTRY OFFLINE

Data entry offline is the process of entering data offline, manually using the keyboard or through automated processes collecting inputs from various sources using hardware equipment designed for the kind of task at hand.

Companies and organizations find it more affective to outsource their data entry tasks to companies specializing in such areas of work. • Copy and paste data - Data from input sources like text files, web pages or other forms of digital files are copied and pasted onto forms, spreadsheets or other files.

• Enter data manually using keyboard - The input data maybe images or printed matter in the form of books or documents in paper form. The data could be hand written matter or audio files. Sometimes data received can not be converted using OCR due to their format. In such cases for example hand written data or data in the form of audio files, data need to be entered manually using the keyboard. To make sure quality is achieved in the output, two people are given the task to enter the data into digital files and the two files are checked for differences. All differences are corrected and the corrected file is input into the form offline.

• Enter data offline using computer programs - It is at times possible to enter data into offline files, grabbing data from text file or web pages.

• Enter data generated by OCR programs - If the input files like images are clear, OCR software can be used on these files to convert the data into digital formats. Files thus created are used as input and are pasted onto forms or other digital files

The files prepared offline can be e-mailed to the client or uploaded to the client's computers over the Internet. In case the files are to be given as hard copies or in the form of books, these documents or books are sent by courier or post to the client or their clients.
